Code of Conduct and Standards
of Professional Conduct

Our professional portfolio management team adheres to both the CFA Institute’s Code of Ethics and their Standards of Professional Conduct. This “Code and Standards” has become the ethical benchmark for investment professionals around the world. As CFA charterholders, FNB Capital‘s entire portfolio management team is required to follow these codes and attest to this on an annual basis.

The Code of Ethics maintains that we must:

  • Place the integrity of the profession and the interests of clients above our own interests;
  • Act with integrity, competence, and respect;
  • Maintain and develop our professional competence.

The Standards of Professional Conduct cover:

  • Professionalism and integrity of the capital markets;
  • Duties to clients and employers;
  • Investment analysis and recommendations;
  • Conflicts of interest and our responsibilities.

Regulatory Oversight

FNB Capital Asset Management is registered as a portfolio manager with the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), Quebec’s financial markets regulator. The AMF is responsible for ensuring that all portfolio managers with head offices in Quebec – which includes FNB Capital – fully assume all of their legal responsibilities and maintain proper solvency standards. To this end, the AMF regularly inspects portfolio management firms like FNB Capital.
